Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS required Must-Have: Previous Charge Experience required Charting System experience preferred Description: Start date within the next 3-5 weeks preferred. NIHSS, BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required. Registered Nurse will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition. No postpartum care will be provided. Patient ratios for days, nights, and weekends are typically 2:1. Experience in administration of blood and blood products is necessary. Skills in antepartum care and management of high-risk delivery are essential. Assisting with sterile speculum exams, vaginal deliveries, and cesarean sections is required. Support for breastfeeding and lactation is expected. Proficiency in managing medications such as antihypertensives and magnesium sulfate is needed. Recovery from C-sections and understanding abnormal fetal heart rate patterns are crucial skills. Foley catheter insertion and management must be demonstrated. Experience with multiple births and NST (Non Stress Tests) is encouraged. IV starting and maintenance, as well as use of PCA, are substantial responsibilities. Operating monitoring equipment, including internal fetal monitoring, is a necessary competency. Adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols is required. Recognition and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension are vital. A commitment to quality patient care and safety is expected throughout the assignment.
