Ultrasound Technologist

Requirements

• Diploma/certificate from an Ultrasound college/school.
• Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB) or Vascular (RVT); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS); or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S) or (VS).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
• At least two years recent experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians.
• Produce images of internal body tissues for diagnosis and monitoring.
• Supervise and mentor ultrasound personnel.
• Maintain equipment and ensure operational status prior to daily procedures.
• Prepare patients and rooms for ultrasound procedures.
• Document and present findings to physicians for diagnoses.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
