Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Current nursing license in hand upon submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Knowledge of Epic charting system - Ability to manage patients with various diagnoses Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting the role, the unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after any emergency event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed for each emergency event, as impacts may vary. By signing the travel contract, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager in the event of an emergency. You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above. Holiday availability: Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require coverage. Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation. On-call: Every other weekend. Orientation hours: 8 hours. Interdisciplinary support includes: Physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Patient age groups include: Neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census: The unit sees an average of 160 visits per day. There are 31 beds available in the unit. Specific skills required include: Management of ventilated patients, central line care and management, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, and triage. Previous travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. References: Two manager or supervisor references will be required to start the contract. Candidates must have a clear NURSYS report submitted with their profile. Resources who worked as permanent staff or in-house contractors must be separated for one full year before they can return as travelers.
