Lead Security Officer Las Vegas, NV, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 5161 Position Title: Lead Security Officer Reports To: Shift Management Department: Security - 055510 Shift: Day, Swing, Grave Role: The Lead Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property while providing leadership and direction to Security Officers on shift. This role combines active patrol, incident response, and policy enforcement with supervisory support, training, and operational coordination. The Lead Officer serves as a key point of contact during shifts, assisting with decision-making, incident escalation, and adherence to company standards. This position plays a critical role in life safety, emergency response, loss prevention, and guest service within the hotel and casino environment. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework in criminal justice, hospitality, or a related field preferred Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of security experience required, with prior leadership, supervisory, or senior officer experience strongly preferred Skills: Must be fluent in English and capable of communicating clearly with guests and team members Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to lead and direct team members in emergency and high‑pressure situations Strong organizational and reporting skills with attention to detail Ability to follow instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Proficient in basic computer systems and incident reporting software Required: Must be at least 21 years of age. Required Work Cards needed: First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Current Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM Card) Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Security Officers during assigned shifts Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of Security Supervisors or Managers Respond promptly and effectively to all emergency situations including fire, medical incidents, criminal activity, and other life safety issues Coordinate and direct officer response during incidents to ensure effective and safe resolution Conduct regular patrols throughout the property to monitor for hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations Ensure officers maintain high visibility and professionalism while on duty Monitor team performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback as needed Assist in training new Security Officers and reinforcing department procedures Maintain regular communication with the Manager on Duty (MOD) and Security leadership Ensure proper documentation of all incidents, investigations, and reports for accuracy and completeness Review reports submitted by officers for quality and compliance with standards Enforce property rules, issue trespass notices (with proper approvals), and ensure compliance with gaming laws Assist in loss prevention efforts, investigations, and asset protection Serve as liaison with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and internal departments Address and resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner Ensure proper handling and documentation of Lost and Found items Assist in the development and execution of emergency preparedness procedures Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability within the department Perform other duties as assigned by Security leadership The above statements represent a general outline of principal job functions and should not be construed as a complete description of all aspects and requirements required for this job. Must be able to bend and reach, including above shoulders. Must be able move freely and quickly in tight spaces and through crowds. Strength and Endurance: Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Push, pull, transport, and maneuver objects or individuals weighing up to 200 pounds. Perform uninterrupted CPR, including chest compressions, until relieved. Maintain physical stamina and endurance throughout the shift. Must be able to defend themself during physical altercations. Must be able to physically restrain individuals when necessary to protect themselves and others. Manual Dexterity and Coordination: Sufficient hand-eye coordination to operate radios, handcuffing tools, AEDs, and other emergency equipment. Operate standard office and security equipment. Accurately complete written reports and enter data. Distinguish between letters, numbers, and symbols. Visual and Auditory Requirements: Vision: Normal or corrected-to-normal vision (20/20), including peripheral and depth perception.
