The City of Suwanee is looking for a dependable, hands-onSpecial Events Stafferto help make our events and public spaces shine. From concerts and festivals to community gatherings, youll play a key role in creating experiences that residents and visitors wont forget. This position works exclusively Suwanee event shifts and can expect to be scheduled for approximately 1020 events per year, though this is an estimate and subject to change.

What Youll Do

No two days look exactly the sameand thats part of the fun. In this role, youll:

• Helpset up and break down city events, including tents, staging, barricades, sound equipment, tables, chairs, and more
• Keep parks and facilitiesclean, safe, and guest-ready
• Performlight maintenance(think changing bulbs, minor repairs, unclogging drains)
• Installbanners, signage, and event dcor
• Operate equipment likegolf carts, ATVs, and light-duty trucks
• Supportevent location setupsand city facility needs
• Keep an eye on park activity and report any concerns
• Pitch in wherever needed to ensure events run smoothly

What It Takes to Succeed

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys staying active, working outdoors, and being part of a team.

Youll thrive here if you:

• Dont mind getting your hands dirty and working in all kinds of weather
• Can lift, carry, and move equipment (sometimes heavy!)
• Are comfortable using tools, equipment, and light vehicles
• Communicate well with teammates and the public
• Take pride in keeping spaces clean, safe, and welcoming

Qualifications

• Some high school education required
• Experience supportingevents, facilities, or similar workis a plus
• Valid (or ability to obtain)Georgia drivers license

Work Environment

• Primarilyoutdoors, including hot summers and occasional cold or inclement weather
• Physically active role involving lifting, walking, climbing, and equipment operation
• Exposure to typical outdoor and maintenance conditions (dust, noise, machinery)
