Machinery Manufacturer – Customer Service Technical Support & Parts Sales

We’re looking for a customer-focused technical support person who enjoys helping customers solve problems, writing up service tickets and sales orders, and supporting our machinery with replacement parts and technical guidance.

This role can be shaped around your background:

• If you already have mechanical, electrical, assembly, troubleshooting, or automation experience, you can work in the shop and/or field (including on-site support and training) while also handling phone support and parts sales.
• If your skills are more limited right now, you’ll focus primarily on phone-based customer service, technical support, ticket writing, and parts sales—while spending time in the shop learning the machines so you can grow into more technical work.

What you’ll do:

• Provide technical phone support to customers for troubleshooting, parts identification, and service needs
• Write up service tickets, sales orders, and clear documentation for parts and service requests
• Sell replacement parts and support existing customers with accurate, helpful recommendations
• Work in the shop alongside the team to learn the machines, assemblies, and common issues (so your phone support gets stronger over time)
• Read drawings, schematics, and wire lists as needed to support customers and internal work
• For candidates with the right skills or as you grow: assist with electrical panel assembly, machine setup/runoff, on-site customer training, and field troubleshooting (travel required for those activities)

What you’ll learn and grow into:

• Deeper knowledge of our machinery, controls, and common service issues by working in the shop
• Stronger troubleshooting and critical thinking skills across electrical and mechanical systems
• Automation and controls concepts (PLC experience is a plus but not required)
• End-to-end customer support—from the first phone call through parts, documentation, and resolution

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is service-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable helping customers by phone
• Pays attention to quality and accuracy when writing tickets, orders, and documentation
• Works well in a team environment and is willing to learn hands-on in the shop
• Has either solid mechanical/electrical/machinery experience or limited experience with a strong desire to learn the equipment
• Can multitask between customer support, parts sales, and learning the machines

Strong pluses (helpful but not required):

• Prior machinery, automation, or controls background
• Experience with electrical schematics, panel wiring, or machine setup
• Any PLC or technical sales/service experience
• Comfort with on-site travel and customer training
