Please remove if not applicable) Open Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION This position exists to provide essential evaluation and psychological treatment to patients of the Wyoming State Hospital per its mission statement. This individual is responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients at the WSH. The psychologist provides administration, interpretation, and write-up of psychological testing administered to patients as requested. This position also conducts group, individual, and family psychotherapies for assigned patients. Human Resource Contact: Brenda Hales / View email address on click.appcast.io / View phone number on click.appcast.io ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides psychological evaluation for purposes of admission screening, treatment planning, diagnostic clarification, readiness for discharge, and community placement, guardianship, and as required to determine eligibility for other services. Diagnoses and treats mental and emotional disorders. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapies and may involve a number of different formats such as the use of cognitive-behavioral treatment techniques. Provides and interprets psychological testing, including the evaluation of mental illness, intelligence, personality, and neuropsychological functioning. Confers with interdisciplinary care teams to discuss, plan, and determine course of action in patient/client care. Designs, constructs, installs, and implements treatment programs for a treatment unit, section, or group. Examples of duties KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of clinical supervision techniques, theory, and practices. Knowledge of working in an inpatient facility Knowledge of working in and designing interdisciplinary treatment plans MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: PsyD or PhD in Psychology Experience: 2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Psychology) Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Wyoming Qualifications PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there will be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, etc. NOTES FLSA: Exempt A background check, including fingerprinting, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant.
