About the Role

The Packaging Specialist I is an entry-level role in our client's quality-driven cannabis packaging operation. This position supports the packaging of finished products by preparing materials, weighing and filling products, labeling, maintaining quality standards, and completing packaging tasks accurately and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining focus on quality, safety, compliance, and team communication.

Responsibilities

Packaging Operations

• Prepare containers and packaging materials for finished products
• Measure, weigh, and package cannabis products in required gram increments
• Package products into the correct containers according to established specifications
• Assist with labeling outgoing products and orders
• Operate packaging equipment according to product and process requirements
• Maintain consistent quality control standards throughout the packaging process

Production Support & Documentation

• Track and record daily packaging data accurately
• Assist with delivery-related tasks as requested
• Support additional production or operational duties as assigned

Quality, Compliance & Safety

• Follow all safety guidelines for packaging and handling materials in the lab
• Maintain detailed knowledge of company policies, procedures, SOPs, and quality standards related to packaging, QC, order fulfillment, and inventory
• Ensure compliance with applicable MED regulations and cannabis packaging requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace
• Help maintain packaging equipment and report any issues to leadership

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have and maintain an active MED Badge
• Previous hands-on experience gramming cannabis products, including hash, preferred
• Reliable transportation required
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and consistency
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and leadership
• Honest, dependable, punctual, and self-motivated

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is primarily onsite and requires regular work in lab, warehouse, basement, and office environments. The position follows a standard 40-hour workweek, with overtime as needed based on production demands.

Physical requirements include the ability to:

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including up and down stairs without assistance
• Stand for extended periods of time
• Bend, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead regularly
• Perform repetitive tasks, particularly with hands and wrists
• Use both fine and gross motor skills to handle tools, packaging materials, and equipment

Working conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment and may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp tools, dust, fumes, airborne particles, temperature changes, and loud noise. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and must be worn as required.
