Job Position: HR Assistant

Pay Rate: $24.00/hr

1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 8:00AM - 4:30 PM

Description:

Short Staffed Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to support both recruitment efforts and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and an interest in both human resources and workplace safety. The successful candidate will help maintain efficient hiring processes while supporting a safe, compliant, and positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support recruitment efforts, including candidate communication and interview scheduling
• Review candidate information and maintain accurate HR records
• Assist with onboarding, employee training, and HR-related documentation
• Handle confidential employee and candidate information with professionalism and discretion
• Help coordinate and maintain EHS training and compliance documentation
• Support workplace safety initiatives and help identify potential safety concerns
• Assist with tracking and reporting safety-related data
• Promote a positive employee experience and culture of safety
• Maintain accurate data entry and record-keeping
• Assist with HR reporting and administrative tasks
• Work collaboratively with employees and management across all levels
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Previous administrative, HR, recruiting, or coordination experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong data entry and record-keeping skills
• Basic understanding of HR practices and employment regulations preferred
• Interest or experience in workplace safety and compliance is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn HR systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong ethical standards
• Ability to work in both an office and operational/worksite environment
• Pre-employment physical and drug test required
• Background check required for final applicants
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to comply with ITAR regulations
