Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a Med Surg/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting required. License: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license. Certifications: NIHSS, Telemetry, BLS-AHA, CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours, ACLS. Must-Have: - Critical thinking - Medication administration - Patient assessment - Strong foundation in pathophysiology - Ability to manage high-acuity patients Description: The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patients' needs. Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Develops, implements, and coordinates an individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments. Initiates assessment based on the patient’s problems or needs, the physician’s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. Manages care of patients. Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities. Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. Provides patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Floating required to comparable units. This position requires working every other weekend and three holidays per year. The work environment is fast-paced and demanding, requiring professionalism and customer service skills.
