You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist and be responsible for managing, supervising and coordinating the planning, programming, budgeting, funds execution, resource management, evaluation of supply and logistics compliance, technical support, training, and coordination of acquisition programs as they relate to the USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC)..

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

• Integrating, planning and assigning tasks to Branch Chiefs who in turn supervise logistics, finance ($650M budget), supply management ($1.1B) in inventory), and technical specialist employees.
• Directing the fiscal management of engineering, logistics, maintenance, repair, alteration, and supply support programs.
• Overseeing the organization responsible for accomplishing nomenclature, cataloging and the creation of mandatory parts allowance documents.
• Directing advanced planning activities to ensure effective coordination of Procurement Branch personnel with other logistics and service-providing organizations of the SFLC.
• Directing the management of the SFLC logistics compliance program, including policy development, procedures and operation of the logistics compliance inspection teams.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

• Experience in applying a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve program effectiveness, as well as improving complex management processes and systems.
• Experience directing a large, multi-functional civilian and/or military workforce, setting organizational performance standards, and handling complex personnel actions.
• Mastery of strategic-level demand planning, inventory optimization, and solving highly complex system readiness deficits for critical equipment.
• Experience with agency program goals and objectives, key program events and milestones, and methods used to evaluate program performance and accomplishments.
• Experience in planning, organizing, and leading team studies and experience negotiating with management to gain acceptance and implementation of recommendations involving significant agency resources, major procedural changes, or issues with competing organizational interests.
