Job Description

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
Certification required - NMTCB or ARRT (N)
State radiologic/nuclear medicine license (as applicable)
BLS certification required
1+ years of nuclear medicine experience required
Familiarity with radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation safety protocols

Duties:

Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients per physician orders
Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures (bone scans, cardiac studies, PET/CT, thyroid scans, etc.)
Operate and maintain gamma cameras, PET scanners, and related imaging equipment
Calculate and verify proper radiopharmaceutical dosages, ensuring patient safety
Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after radiopharmaceutical administration
Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed for patients and staff
Accurately document exams, dosages, and patient records in RIS/PACS systems
Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and dose calibrators
Properly handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials per regulatory guidelines
Collaborate with radiologists/physicians on imaging findings and follow-up care
