Description The registered dietitian (RD) is responsible for the nutritional assessment and intervention of acute care hospitalized patients. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on the patient's diagnosis, nutrition-focused physical exam, and overall health status. Identifies the proper nutrition regimen and places orders in the medical record. Communicates the plan of care to all responsible parties. Educates staff, patients, family, and significant others on the nutrition plan of care. Documents findings, orders, and interventions in the electronic health record. Contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. Supports best practice standards of care by utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines. Estimated salary range for this position is $60,249.48 – $78,324.32 per year depending on experience. Qualifications Degrees: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition (BSNT required). Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN). CDR Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist . Board certified in a nutrition-related specialty or Master’s degree or higher. Minimum required experience: 3 years in a hospital clinical setting. Direct patient care through assessment, intervention, and care planning.
