Definition Of Classification The Head Coach is responsible for directing, planning, administering, and evaluating all aspects of the women's flag football program. The Head Coach must comply with all University, NCAA Division III rules and policies and has a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position furthers the university mission through leadership and education. Travel may be required for contests and recruiting. Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required. Duties And Responsibilities Recruit qualified student‑athletes for the University of Redlands and the women's flag football program. Hire, supervise, evaluate, and oversee the women's flag football coaching staff, including one part‑time assistant coach. Schedule practice, competitions, scrimmages, exhibition matches, and coordinate travel. Administer budget and annual fundraising. Ensure compliance with NCAA, SCIAC conference, and university regulations. Teach physical education activity courses during the academic year. Perform a collateral departmental administrative assignment as assigned. Plan, direct, and assign staff work; make hiring and disciplinary decisions; provide performance feedback; approve timesheets. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. Qualification Guidelines Experience/Training/Education Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred. Ability to identify and attract outstanding students and relate to diverse groups. Clear understanding of NCAA Division III philosophy and role of physical education and athletics. Minimum three (3) years of flag football or football coaching experience; preference for head or collegiate coaching experience. Experience working with diverse constituencies, sensitivity to multicultural issues. Competent interaction with culturally and ethnically diverse population. Valid California Class C driver’s license with good driving record. Knowledge And Skills Effective verbal and written communication. Aptitude to learn new technology and recommend improvements. Excellent technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Recommend appropriate actions within guidelines. Foster strong relationships and align resources to achieve objectives. Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality. Competent interaction with diverse population. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Standard office setting with occasional outdoor work during season.
