Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with emotional disturbance (ED) populations preferred
• Expertise in developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong classroom management and organizational abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and support to middle-grade students in an ED classroom
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Implement IEP goals, track student progress, and participate in the IEP process
• Foster a safe, encouraging classroom atmosphere conducive to academic and social growth
• Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to best address student needs
• Employ strategies to manage behaviors and provide social-emotional support
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive student records and documentation
• Participate in professional development and team meetings as required
