Cenergy is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive innovation in emerging energy technologies. This role involves delivering engineering consulting services for Shell TechWorks (STW), Shell's innovation hub focused on tackling some of the most pressing challenges in the energy industry. We work across Shell's global businesses, from traditional Oil & Gas to Renewables & Energy Solutions, to accelerate the energy transition and help Shell achieve its Powering Progress strategy. s a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide technical leadership on complex, high-impact projects that shape the future of energy. Leveraging broad engineering expertise and deep proficiency in at least one technical domain, you will deliver innovative solutions that support Shell's Powering Progress strategy and address critical energy transition challenges.
Job Description
Technical Leadership & Strategy. Define and execute Shell TechWorks' technical strategy, leading complex initiatives and translating emerging opportunities into actionable outcomes. Foster multidisciplinary collaboration and guide Horizon 1, 2, and 31 innovation through open innovation, external technologies, and strategic partnerships.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration. Build trusted relationships across Shell stakeholders, business leaders, technical experts, external partners, startups, vendors, and academia to align diverse perspectives and deliver strategic outcomes. Lead cross-functional teams and leverage open innovation to advance energy transition solutions.
nalytical & Technical Proficiency. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, applying mathematical modeling, computational methods, data analysis, and systems thinking to solve complex technical challenges, optimize performance, and inform technical decisions across traditional and emerging energy systems.
Innovation Delivery & Execution. Lead innovation initiatives from concept through implementation, driving rapid prototyping, technology maturation, and scalable solutions. Operate with a high degree of autonomy, strategic judgment, and ownership to deliver impactful outcomes aligned with Shell's strategic priorities. Contribute to Shell TechWorks' growth by identifying and pursuing new innovation and business opportunities.

Leadership & Communication
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with demonstrated success engaging technical, commercial, operational, and executive stakeholders across organizational boundaries. Proven ability to build trust, align diverse perspectives, and drive effective decision-making in complex environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive presentations, recommendations, and technical reports.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineers across disciplines and career stages, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Desired Skills and Technical Expertise
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of engineering experience with a track record of delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Broad systems-level engineering capability spanning multiple disciplines, combined with recognized expertise in at least one core technical domain.
• Strong background in mathematical modeling, computational methods, data analytics, and technical problem-solving, including the use of engineering and computational tools to evaluate system performance, optimize operations, and support technology development.
• Experience leading innovation, R&D, technology development, or product maturation activities.
• Experience in Client, downstream operations, oil and gas, or adjacent energy sectors is beneficial.
• Familiarity with emerging energy technologies such as hydrogen, carbon capture and storage (CCS), geothermal energy, or circular economy solutions is desirable.
