HR Business Partner

Job Description

A local company is seeking a HR Business Partner to provide support for their day-to-day operations while other team members focus on the Workday projects. This is a first shift position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain day-to-day HR Business Partner support for assigned areas so operational matters continue to be addressed timely while impacted employees are focused on workday testing and design activities
• Provide quick turnaround on urgent HR needs to prevent delays, bottlenecks, or service disruptions during the workday project timeline
• Support continuity of core HR operations, including employee relations guidance, manager support, policy interpretation, position-related questions, and other HRBP responsibilities that require timely attention
• Reduce disruption for employees participating in workday testing by ensuring their regular operational responsibilities are covered while they support testing, validation, and project design work
• Assist with job description reviews, including point factor evaluation, grade assignment, union classification, FLSA status review, and job code determination
• Provide additional support to the Compensation Manager by helping review compensation-related requests and, when appropriate, assisting with salary recommendation considerations
• Bring strong Labor Relations expertise to support union-related classification questions, contract alignment, employee relations matters, and other labor-sensitive operational work
• Help ensure managers and departments receive timely HR guidance so business operations can continue without interruption while Workday project resources remain focused on project deliverables
• Support workload balance across HR by absorbing operational tasks that would otherwise pull key staff away from Workday testing, process review, and design decision-making
• Contribute to risk mitigation by keeping essential HR work moving, maintaining compliance-focused reviews, and preventing delays that could impact both daily operations and the Workday implementation schedule

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications:

• Higher education experience and employee relation experience is preferred
• Must have previous HR experience
• Must have the ability to understand financial statements, organizational strategy, and how HR decisions impact business outcomes
• Must be capable of advising managers on workforce planning, team structure, performance management, and change initiatives
• Must be strong in people analytics and data-driven decision-making to support strategic initiatives
• Must be able to support workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and leadership development
• Must have effective communication skills, along with strong organizational, and excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong data entry skills
• Must have the ability to set priorities and organize work to accomplish assigned tasks
• Must have the ability to manage confidential employee information with discretion and good judgement
