Senior Accounting Associate

A Professional Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join their team as Senior Accounting Associate.

Responsibilities:

• Support the team in managing the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation, review, and analysis of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data across the region and its business units.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other close deliverables in a timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing accounting processes and internal controls to enable accurate and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and review financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
• Support regulatory compliance efforts and assist in the preparation of documentation and analysis for external audits.
• Monitor updates to accounting standards and help assess their impact on month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with North America finance teams to collect required financial data, standardize reporting practices, and meet consolidation deadlines.
• Perform other duties, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification, or active progress toward certification, is a plus.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience; public accounting background is a plus.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Excellent analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across regions and departments.
