Software Process and Quality Engineer Stf

Job Summary This software quality leader will develop, modify, and apply quality principles to the development and use of system/software products for the Core Processing Software team on the F-35 program. The role includes verification and validation of test equipment, including hardware-in-the-loop systems, defining operating criteria for the software quality program, verifying designs and implementation of software development and maintenance processes, and establishing audit strategies to ensure compliance with safety software processes. Key duties involve evaluating and analyzing software quality for deficiency identification and correction, ensuring measures meet acceptable reliability standards, conducting software product reviews against contractual, technical, and process requirements, and performing or directing verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability. The engineer will produce and analyze value, quality, and speed metrics, support release execution and verification, review third‑party software assessments, and oversee defect reviews across several agile teams with support for Program Increment planning. Responsibilities Develop, modify, and apply quality principles to system/software products. Perform verification and validation of test equipment, including hardware-in-the-loop systems. Create operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program per project, process, and contract requirements. Verify designs and implementation of software development and maintenance processes. Define audit strategy to ensure compliance with safety software processes. Evaluate and analyze software quality for deficiency identification and correction. Conduct software product reviews against contractual, technical, and process requirements. Perform or direct verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability. Produce and analyze value, quality, and speed metrics. Support release execution and verification, third‑party software assessments, and defect reviews. Support agile teams and Program Increment planning. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Experience developing with C and C++ programming languages. Experience with safety‑critical software development. Experience with Agile methodology. Ability to obtain DoD secret clearance. Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited college in a software‑related major, or equivalent experience/combined education. Desired Skills: Complete software lifecycle development process and test philosophies. Experience with software pipelines. Experience with requirements‑based CSCI testing. Experience using the Python scripting language. Experience with Atlassian collaboration tools (JIRA). Experience with configuration management tools, such as Bitbucket. Experience working in a fast‐paced environment in technical teams across virtual environments. Team leadership experience. Mission systems/Avionics background. Experience with safety critical and trusted software development processes. Experience with LDRA unit testing. Experience with test automation. Experience with C++ STL containers’ API. Clearance This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
