What You Will Contribute

Badger Meter is seeking a Private Water Account Manager to lead strategic growth and customer engagement with investor-owned water and wastewater utilities across an assigned territory. This is more than a traditional sales role. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to utility leaders, helping them address critical challenges related to water loss, aging infrastructure, affordability, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.

In this role, you'll collaborate with utility executives, operations teams, engineers, and business leaders to identify opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and deliver measurable outcomes through Badger Meter's industry-leading portfolio of smart water technologies.

This is a remote sales role and may cover multiple territories.

What You'll Do

• Grow and expand strategic customer accounts while achieving revenue and territory growth goals.
• Build trusted relationships with utility executives and key decision-makers.
• Identify and develop opportunities across AMI, SaaS, analytics, water quality, leak detection, network monitoring, wastewater, and smart utility solutions.
• Lead consultative sales discussions focused on solving customer challenges and delivering business value.
• Develop account strategies, business cases, and ROI-driven proposals.
• Partner with internal technical, product, and customer success teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
• Represent Badger Meter at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.

What Makes You Successful

You are a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys solving complex customer challenges. You can connect operational needs with strategic business outcomes and are comfortable engaging everyone from field operations teams to executive leadership.

You bring:

• 3+ years of consultative B2B sales experience.
• Experience supporting utilities, infrastructure, industrial, municipal, environmental, or related markets.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Success managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
• The ability to identify customer challenges and translate them into practical, value-driven solutions.

Preferred Experience

• Water, wastewater, utility, infrastructure, or environmental services markets.
• AMI, smart utility technologies, SaaS, analytics, monitoring solutions, leak detection, or water quality solutions.
• Investor-owned utility environments and regulated industries.
• Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
