Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

ABA ClinicianThis is a direct service position that works one-on-one with children who have special needs. ABA Clinicians focus on increasing communication, social, and verbal behavior skills, as well as decreasing problem behavior, using the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This position reports to the Clinical and Administrative Leadership at the Clinic. This is a non-exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).Essential Daily DutiesThese duties should be able to be completed with or without reasonable ADA accommodations.Preparing for client session including reviewing previous notes/documentsRun skill acquisition programs (including Discrete Trial Instruction and Natural Environment Teaching) and teach a variety of skills using ABA principlesObserve and track behaviors using a variety of data collection methodsFollow individualized behavior plans, including intervening on problem behavior as outlined in beneficiary's planComplete end of session tasks not limited to, rendering time worked, completing ABA session documentationLearn and use assistive technology and other specialized equipmentAttend and participate in clinic/company meetings, trainings, case reviews, etc.Assist with parent trainings by modeling ABA techniquesOther DutiesOpportunity to attend and participate in community events on weeknights and weekendsCompleting team choresRequirementsRequired Education and ExperienceMinimum of a bachelor's degree; company sponsored RBT Certification is required prior to working independently with a client (if not acquired prior)Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in psychology or a related field; experience applying ABA principles; experience working with children with special needs; RBT certificationKnowledge ofMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Applied Behavior Analysis, and Autism Spectrum DisordersAbility toFollow ethical standards as set forth by the BACBExhibit patience when working with clients who have special needs, problem behavior, and seeing progress with behavioral interventionsMaintain records and documentation in accordance with ABA funding sourcesMaintain confidentiality per HIPAA standardsCommunicate effectively with co-workers and leadership both orally and in writingEstablish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and other professionalsAccept and implement feedback consistently across sessionsSkillsThoroughnessDetail-orientatedAccountabilityCollaboration Skills/Ability to Work Well with OthersCommunication Proficiency (Co-workers, Parents, Clients)AdaptabilityInitiative, self-starterCritical thinkingSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position does not have a supervisory role.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional, clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers/tablets, phones, and photocopiers.TravelServices are primarily provided in a clinic-based setting, however occasional local travel may be required depending on patient need.Physical DemandsThis is largely an active role. This would require the ability to bend, sit, stand, lift, walk, and diaper a child throughout the day. Lifting requirement range is 5-20 lbs. but may exceed 20 lbs. in some cases.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
