Position Overview
The State of Mississippi is seeking a Cloud Specialist – Cloud Migration to develop, modify, and maintain scalable cloud architectures supporting IaaS and PaaS environments. The role will focus on migrating on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to public cloud platforms while ensuring security, compliance, data protection, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and modify scalable cloud architecture for IaaS and PaaS platforms. 
• Migrate existing on-premises applications, workloads, and databases to public cloud environments. 
• Support AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms. 
• Ensure cloud environments meet security, compliance, data protection, and privacy requirements. 
• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and proactively troubleshoot issues. 
• Manage and optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. 
• Develop automation using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell. 
• Work with cloud networking, VPCs, firewalls, and infrastructure management. 
• Manage Windows Servers, Active Directory, and Linux environments. 
• Design controls and processes using available audit tools. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud migration and infrastructure initiatives. 
• Maintain current knowledge of cloud technologies and products. 

Required Skills

• 5+ years Microsoft Windows Server experience. 
• 7+ years Azure and/or AWS experience. 
• 3+ years Microsoft 365 experience. 
• 3+ years PowerShell experience. 
• 5+ years networking experience. 
• Experience with cloud migration and infrastructure management. 
• Experience with cloud security, data protection, and compliance. 
• Experience with virtual machines, VPCs, and firewalls. 
• Strong automation and scripting capabilities. 

Preferred Skills

• 5+ years Linux administration. 
• 3+ years VMware vSphere. 
• 3+ years Python. 
• 3+ years Bash scripting. 
• 5+ years cloud storage technologies. 
• Prior government or regulated-industry experience.
