Job Description
We are looking for a Part Time Tax Accountant in Union County, NJ. In this position you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, 1040 filings, and more. If you are looking for an opportunity where you can grow your career, this might be the role for you!
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review individual income tax filings with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
• Manage 1040 returns while maintaining consistent quality throughout peak tax periods.
• Complete tax returns for S corporations and partnerships in accordance with current tax regulations and client requirements.
• Organize financial data, supporting schedules, and source documents needed to produce accurate business and individual returns.
• Identify discrepancies or missing information in client records and follow up to resolve issues before filing.
• Support overall tax preparation activities by prioritizing assignments effectively and meeting established deadlines.
• At least 5 years of experience in tax accounting or a closely related tax preparation environment.
• Demonstrated experience preparing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Strong working knowledge of S corporation and partnership filings.
• Proven ability to handle a high volume of individual tax returns.
• Hands-on experience with Tax Software.
• Solid understanding of tax preparation processes, documentation standards, and filing requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
