Project Manager/Scrum Master

We are seeking a growth-centric, excellence-focused Project Manager/Scrum Master to join our team. Ideal candidates will be able to work a hybrid schedule at our New York City office or Texas Headquarters in Arlington (typically onsite Tues/Wed/Thurs and remote Mon/Fri). Open to fully remote for the right candidate.

Job Purpose

The Project Manager/Scrum Master is responsible for managing projects within the technology organization, facilitating Agile practices, and ensuring that cross-functional teams are working efficiently and collaboratively. This individual will lead by example, using Agile methodologies to optimize team performance and ensure that product goals are met.

Due to the demands of continuous engagement, project demands, on-call support, and the level of expertise required in this role, the Project Manager/Scrum Master must be willing work extended hours, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Agile Execution
• Provide coaching and mentorship to team members on Agile principles and frameworks.
• Responsible for managing software development projects, ensuring adherence to Agile principles, and acting as the Scrum Master to facilitate Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the Scrum Master for select technology teams, facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Drive Agile best practices, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Utilize Agile project management tools to maintain visibility into team capacity, velocity, and deliverables.
• Project Management Operations
• Contribute to projects across immediate team, collaborate with adjacent teams, manage dependencies and engage with external stakeholders.
• Work with defined problem statements and execute deliverables within a structured roadmap.
• Track and manage project progress, identifying and addressing impediments to ensure timely delivery
• Ensure effective risk management, quality assurance, and compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
• Break down and track complex projects, integrate input from multiple sources, and identify and track dependencies across projects while maintaining the integrity of the critical path.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
• Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure project success.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
• Foster strong cross-functional relationships with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to support the success of technology initiatives.
• Act as a primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication on project progress, risks, and deliverables.
• Communicate updates on major milestones and keeps all stakeholders informed of progress and issues. Identify and manage proposed changes to program parameters and work with managers to ensure appropriate processes and communications are followed.
• Scope & Complexity
• Work closely with the Product team and engineering peers to ensure clear communication of project requirements and timelines.
• Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s or associate degree preferred.
• Project Management and/or Scrum Master certification is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; can effectively communicate the status updates and results of projects clearly to the audience.
• Experience in SVOD, demonstrating a strong understanding of streaming technologies and platform systems.
• Experience working directly with a project/task management toolset.
• Experience delivering technology programs or products from inception to delivery.
• Experience working with cross-disciplinary and geographically distributed software development teams.
• Experience managing dependencies and engaging with external stakeholders.
• Able to navigate ambiguous and complex projects with guidance.
• Proficiency with Agile or other project management methodologies, including tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, and Scrum.
• Willingness to work outside of normal hours based on project needs (may include weekends and/or holidays).

Working Conditions

This position is in an office environment and may require some travel.The hybrid schedule typically consists of being onsite Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and remote Monday/Friday.

Depending on the candidate’s location, we may consider a fully remote position.
