Laundry Production Worker

Laundry Position

Note: Laundry positions are safety sensitive, requiring the utmost attention of employees to potential safety concerns. The Laundry Facility is non-air conditioned. High humidity, heat, and cold are environmental factors in this facility.

Minimum Skills and Abilities Required:

• Perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling and squatting. Able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis
• Able to stand in excess of 7 hours during a regular shift
• Match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness
• Make quick, coordinated and repeated movements with fingers, hands, and wrists.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Serves as a representative of Brett/Robinson, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other employees of Brett/Robinson, owners, guests, and other members of the community
• Controls operations of equipment or systems
• Watches gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
• Inspects and evaluates the quality of products
• Starts washer or drier, and turns valves or levers to regulate and monitor cleaning or drying operations
• Loads or directs other workers to load articles into washer or dry-cleaning machine
• Removes or directs other workers to remove items from washer and into drier
• Cleans machine filters, keeps laundry machines, floor, and other equipment clean
• Pre-soaks, sterilizes, scrubs, spot-cleans, and dries contaminated or stained articles, using neutralizer solutions
• Examines and sorts articles to be cleaned into lots, according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required
• Sorts and counts articles removed from dryer and folds or hangs items for airing out, pickup, or delivery.
• Receives and marks articles for laundry with identifying code number or name
• Irons or presses articles pressing machine
• Reports safety hazards
• Attends departmental meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work flexible hours, up to 40 hours per week, 7 days a week; according to seasonal needs
• Work environment includes exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidly, and cold
• Regular attendance and punctuality are expected in accordance to company policy
