Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state-specific credentials required)
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various age groups
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities used in Deaf education
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Creativity and flexibility to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual, small group, and/or classroom settings
- Assess students’ abilities and progress using appropriate tools and techniques
- Adapt and modify curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to integrate strategies throughout the school environment
- Guide families on resources and strategies to maximize their child’s learning opportunities
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
