Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

The Women’s Soccer Assistant Coach at Gardner-Webb University is responsible for the assistance of administration, supervision, and management of the intercollegiate soccer program within the parameters of the university’s rules and regulations, and the NCAA. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement the intercollegiate program under the direction of the Head Coach. Develop, implement, and evaluate a successful recruitment program for prospective student‑athletes. Facilitate an atmosphere conducive to the academic and athletic success of student‑athletes and monitor their academic progress. Represent the university before media, alumni, and other external groups as requested. Attend staff and individual meetings with the Head Coach. Be present at all team practices and games, creating appropriate practice and game plans to develop the team for competition. Handle administrative tasks including maintaining rosters, scheduling practices and games (with Head Coach approval), keeping team statistics, monitoring the condition of facilities, organizing tournaments or events, and arranging travel and lodging. Assist the Head Coach with recruitment of student‑athletes. Fulfill obligations to the conference and organization to which the sport belongs, such as attending meetings and serving on committees. Advise the Head Coach on budgetary needs. Develop team morale, ensuring conduct reflects sportsmanship during practice and competition. Ensure the physical condition of each team member and coordinate with the Athletic Trainer, sports medicine staff, trainers, and doctors. Report annually to the Director of Athletics all athletically related income from outside the college, as required by the NCAA. Drive team vans when necessary to practice or game sites. Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head Coach. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 2–3 years of coaching experience at the NCAA level. Goalkeeper experience preferred. Valid driver’s license and eligibility to operate a college van. BA or equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills. Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and enthusiastic team attitude. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff. Athletic recruitment experience strongly preferred. Experience planning, developing, and administering budgets helpful. #J-18808-Ljbffr
