Begin as a department manager in fresh produce, prepared foods, or grocery. Start with practical training in cooking, processing, sales, and customer service. After gaining experience, manage part‑time and temporary staff, lead the department team, and coordinate with other departments. Build management skills and progress to assistant store manager and store manager. Teamwork is essential. Build trust with various members, discuss what would delight customers, and collaborate on ideas to improve sales and store layout. Working Hours and Style Full‑time, 8‑hour shift. Location United States: California, Illinois, Texas, New Jersey, Hawaii. Transfers may occur for career advancement. Salary and Benefits Salary: $48,000–$60,000 (based on experience).
