By being a part of our firm, you will contribute to our efficiency and client satisfaction! As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for maintaining financial procedures and compliance through preparation of a client’s tax returns, reports, and statements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Available to work scheduled 40 hours per week with additional hours needed during Tax Season. 8:00am – 5:00pm (Monday through Friday) and Saturdays 9:00am – 2:00pm (January through April). In-person work only/no remote opportunities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (during Tax Season).
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Must be a U.S. resident aged 18 or older.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to manage time and multi-task to establish and meet deadlines.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Bilingual preferred.
• PC computer and technology proficiency. MS Office Programs, QuickBooks, & UltraTax preferred.
• Experience in preparing individual, business, estate & trust, and real estate tax returns preferred.

BENEFITS

• Overtime pay at straight-time rates for time more than 40 hours per week. Overtime is paid in the form of compensatory time off. Banked time for working more than 40 hours per week can be used as paid time off at a future date.
• One-week paid vacation annually accrued monthly from start date. Vacation time will consist of an allowance of 5 days per year; this increases to 10 days after 1 year of employment and then increases to 15 days after 3 years. Additionally, 5 paid sick days annually.
• 8 traditional paid holidays per calendar year (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, & Christmas Day).
• Commission on new business brought into the firm at 15% of collections for 1 year.
• AFLAC insurance coverage of your choice - $50 monthly firm contribution.
• Optional participation in firm 401(k) plan; company matches first 3% of employee contribution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will be responsible for the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. This individual will also lead and manage multiple accounting and tax engagements to deliver quality services for our clients in a timely manner.

• Client Accounting & Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements for multiple business clients.
• Reconciliations: Perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations and verify general ledger accuracy.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare, assist, and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, real estate, benefit funds, and exempt organizations ensuring compliance with tax laws.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Post journal entries, manage account reconciliations, and handle accruals.
• Advisory: Provide insight into financial data to help clients improve efficiency. Manage multiple clients, budgets, and production goals. Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
• Client Relationships: Build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating knowledge of each client’s business.
