Endoscopy Technician

Summary: The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for safely reprocessing endoscopy equipment for patient use according to the manufacturer instructions for use and in compliance with regulatory guidelines. They are also responsible for stocking, ordering, and maintaining adequate par levels of endoscopic supplies. Responsibilities Performs pressure leak testing on endoscopes. Meticulously cleans the endoscopes per manufacturers instructions for use to ensure that all bioburden has been removed. Visually inspects scopes for any damage and performs Adenosine Triphosphate Testing as appropriate. Prepares scope for high level disinfection in scope washing machine. Ensures all surfaces of scope have been thoroughly dried prior to being stored in scope drying cabinet. Manages supplies within the department and ensures they are available to provide safe and efficient care.
