Medina Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist, specializing in trauma-informed care, to join our team in providing impactful mental health services. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while focusing on delivering exceptional outpatient care to individuals affected by trauma and related mental health disorders.

Work Environment

This remote position allows for a flexible work setting, enabling you to provide quality care to our clientele while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Although the majority of your responsibilities will be conducted remotely, you will have opportunities to participate in team meetings and collaborative activities designed to enhance our services and foster professional development. Our work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each client’s unique trauma history and identify the most appropriate treatment strategies.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, incorporating techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Provide engaging individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma, develop effective coping mechanisms, and promote healing.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic and integrated care for your clients.
• Deliver crisis interventions and support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate assistance for clients in distress.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, available coping strategies, and resources for recovery.
• Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and proper record-keeping.
• Engage in case consultations, participate in team meetings, and pursue professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care.
• Stay informed about current research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance your skill set and the effectiveness of treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a therapist at Medina Behavioral Health Center, you will predominantly work with individuals—ranging from adolescents to adults—who have experienced various forms of trauma. Our clients often battle post-traumatic stress disorder, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your role will not only involve addressing their immediate therapeutic needs but also empowering them to navigate their recovery journeys with resilience and hope.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Proficient in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, characterized by a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client care.
• Capability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in general computer applications.
• Ability to thrive within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Two or more years of experience providing trauma-informed care and specific trauma-focused therapies.
• Demonstrated history of effectively managing diverse client needs and adapting interventions accordingly.
• Previous experience working within a remote healthcare framework is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
