Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an LPN, with recent inpatient psychiatric experience within the last 3 months. License: Active LPN license in Vermont Certifications: BLS certification from American Heart Association Must-Have: - Recent child psychiatric experience within the last 3 months. - Psych/Behavioral Health experience with age groups listed on the resume. - Willingness to float to other units and take charge shifts. - Psych skills checklist from within the last year. - Two supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment. - Driver's license or address must be included in the submission packet. Description: This position requires starting on the specified date with no exceptions. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group needs and interventions. Utilizing the nursing process is essential to meet the needs of patients requiring complex nursing care. The role includes providing clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers to ensure safe and therapeutic delivery of care. The treatment environment is designed to promote healing and ongoing recovery. The focus is on helping patients develop and maintain sobriety while managing co-occurring psychiatric issues. High-quality intervention, medically assisted drug and alcohol withdrawal, and stabilization are key components of treatment. Ensuring education is provided to support a strong and successful recovery is part of the role. Scheduling restrictions apply during the initial orientation period and for selected blackout dates. Experience in various patient populations is preferred. Weekends may be required as part of the schedule.
