Locum Occupational Medicine / Urgent Care Physician Position Type: Locum Tenens Coverage Area: Missouri and Kansas Clinics Openings: 2 Physicians Assignment Dates: June 15, 2026 – September 30, 2026 Position Overview We are seeking experienced Locum Physicians to provide Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care services in an outpatient clinic setting. Providers will treat both scheduled and walk-in patients, including work-related injuries, occupational health cases, and urgent care visits. Physicians may also collaborate with and provide oversight to advanced practice providers as needed. Schedule Primary Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Alternative Schedule Option: 3 days per week, with availability required on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Coverage across multiple clinic locations in Missouri and Kansas may be required. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and treat occupational injuries and illnesses Evaluate and manage walk-in urgent care patients Perform physical examinations, including: Pre-placement exams DOT physicals Public safety and surveillance exams Provide oversight and collaboration with advanced practice providers when applicable Perform in-office procedures within scope of practice Communicate with employers regarding treatment plans and return-to-work status Provide medical guidance and work restrictions Ensure accurate and timely documentation Deliver professional, respectful, and patient-centered care Qualifications Required: DOT Certification required prior to first shift Active medical licenses in both Missouri and Kansas Ability to practice autonomously Board Certified or Board Eligible in primary care or a related field Active, unrestricted DEA license Minimum 1 year of office-based procedural experience Preferred: Occupational Medicine experience Urgent Care experience Additional Details Multi-site clinic coverage across Missouri and Kansas Flexible scheduling options available Mix of Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care cases Outpatient clinic setting Established clinical workflows and provider support Pre-Engagement Requirements 2-step TB test Active and unrestricted DEA license Active, unrestricted medical licenses in Missouri and Kansas Background checkUpdated CV / resume Drug screening Locum screening questionnaire and checklist Medical malpractice history review Medicare / Medicaid compliance review Minimum 5-year continuous work history Reference checks E-prescribe setup, if applicable DOT Certification Requirement Providers must be DOT Certified through the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners prior to their first shift. This certification is required to perform DOT/CDL physicals and issue medical clearance for commercial drivers.
