Facility:
This regional healthcare system serves as a tertiary referral center for the area, featuring a brand new state-of-the-art 40-bed Emergency Department with annual volumes of approximately 42,000 patients per year. The facility is a 330-bed hospital and holds Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designations, supported by a full complement of collaborative specialists and subspecialists including PICU/NICU teams, pediatric sub-specialists, a neuro-interventional team, and a STEMI team.

Job Details:

• Join a regional Emergency Medicine team serving both urban and rural environments through a hub-and-spoke care model
• Work approximately half of shifts at the main Duluth ED and half at a subset of six regional EDs (Aurora, Virginia, Moose Lake, Sandstone, Deer River, and Superior, WI)
• Duluth ED features 8 and 9 hour shifts with double and triple physician coverage plus additional APP support 7 days per week
• Regional sites feature annual ED volumes of 3,500-12,000 patients per year, all Level IV trauma facilities
• Regional scheduling includes 12-hour or optional 24-hour single coverage shifts depending on site
• Telemedicine support available at regional sites including stroke, psychiatry, NICU, hospice, and cardiology
• Provide full spectrum of emergency medicine care including pediatrics
• Opportunity to teach FM residents and medical students, if interested
• Excellent behavioral health resources in the ED including psychiatry consult service, social work, case management, safe rooms, and behavioral health techs and nurses
• Strong nursing staff with excellent retention and a mixture of experience levels
• BC/BE Emergency Medicine required
• Must be an excellent team player with strong commitment to caring for patients both in Duluth and regionally
• Position goal is to be filled in 2028
