Job Description

Join a growing wood production facility as a General Production Worker, supporting the operation of modern woodcutting equipment and contributing to efficient, high-quality output. You will assist with machine operation, setups, and inspections while working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that values safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate and help operate various woodcutting machines
• Perform spot checks on the first and last pieces of each production run to verify quality and accuracy.
• Change machine blades as needed to maintain safe and efficient operation.
• Assist with machine setups and changeovers to support smooth transitions between jobs.
• Use a tape measure to confirm dimensions and ensure products meet required specifications.
• Perform general production tasks such as material handling, basic assembly, and inspection.
• Operate hand tools safely and correctly as part of daily production activities.
• Set up machines according to instructions and production requirements.
• Lift materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the shift.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in a wood shop environment.

Essential Skills

• Previous machine operating or setup experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand and remain on your feet for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Basic machine operation skills, including starting, stopping, and monitoring equipment.
• Experience with saw operation or similar cutting equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
