Position Overview Part‑time Veterinarian with predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment in a full‑service small animal practice located at the New England Animal Hospital in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. The role focuses on maintaining balance and flexibility while remaining clinically engaged and providing excellent pet care. Compensation Part‑time salaries are prorated based on experience and shifts worked. Salary ranges listed represent full‑time compensation: $140,000 – $220,000 USD. What We Offer Competitive salary with Production Bonus – no negative accrual option available Signing and retention incentives up to $50,000 CE stipend Licensing and dues reimbursement 401(k) participation Team member pet discounts Emotional wellbeing support, including Calm app access and 24/7 EAP A supportive home hospital environment backed by national resources and a strong Culture of Care Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Client communication and education Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery Maintaining accurate medical records Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for the daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards are upheld Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited program Current state veterinary license DEA registration maintained At least 1 year of veterinary practice experience Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Team‑oriented working ability Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care Effective communication with staff and clients Ability to handle pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain with confidence and reassurance Physical ability to perform moderately demanding tasks, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Advanced clinical knowledge across multiple systems Problem‑solving skills for high‑quality veterinary hospital management Proficient communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism and capacity to give/receive constructive feedback Business acumen in veterinary hospital finances and management Ethics knowledge guiding patient‑care decisions Commitment to continuing education and support learning for others Pay Range $140,000 – $220,000 USD For questions or to submit your resume, email Leslie Lynette, RVT, CVPM @ View email address on click.appcast.io.
