Concrete Worker - Per Diem Offered

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman-Level Concrete Carpenters & Concrete Finishers for a utility substation construction project in the Carlisle, PA area!

Will be working 6x10 from 7am-4:30pm. Pay is $33 an hour. Air BnB provided plus $50/day all 7 days. Work is scheduled for 10+ months.

This position will perform a combination of concrete construction and underground electrical infrastructure work associated with the construction of electrical substations.

Responsibilities include:

• Build, set, and strip concrete forms for substation foundations, equipment pads, transformer foundations, control buildings, and other structures.
• Perform concrete placement, grading, screeding, floating, edging, jointing, and finishing.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, elevations, and specifications.
• Install and tie reinforcing steel, wire mesh, embeds, anchor bolts, sleeves, and other concrete reinforcement.
• Assist with excavation, preparation, and installation of underground electrical conduit systems.
• Install PVC, rigid, HDPE, or other specified conduit associated with underground electrical systems.
• Install and assemble conduit runs, sweeps, bends, spacers, supports, and fittings.
• Assist with installation of conduit banks/duct banks, including proper spacing, alignment, encasement, and concrete placement.
• Install underground conduit to proper elevations, grades, and locations according to project drawings.
• Assist with trenching, bedding, backfilling, compaction, and underground utility installation.
• Install pull rope/string and prepare conduit systems for future wire/cable installation.
• Work around electrical equipment, grounding systems, foundations, transformers, switchgear, and other substation components.
• Assist with grounding and bonding components where required.
• Operate hand and power tools and construction equipment safely.
• Perform layout, measurements, elevations, and grade checks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all OSHA, site-specific, and electrical-substation safety requirements.
• Work effectively with electricians, equipment operators, laborers, surveyors, and other construction personnel.
• Perform additional concrete, carpentry, and underground construction duties as directed by the superintendent or foreman.

Qualifications include:

• Journeyman-level experience in concrete carpentry and/or concrete finishing.
• Demonstrated experience with commercial, industrial, utility, or heavy civil concrete construction.
• Experience with underground conduit installation and duct bank construction strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, civil drawings, electrical drawings, and site plans.
• Experience with concrete forms, reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, embeds, and equipment foundations.
• Ability to properly finish concrete using hand tools and power equipment.
• Ability to accurately measure, lay out, and maintain elevations and grades.
• Familiarity with underground utility installation and construction practices.
• OSHA 10
• Must be able to pass required pre-employment screening.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality.
