Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Support patients’ medical, functional, educational, and rehabilitation goals through a positive and encouraging approach. Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate pertinent information to the appropriate care team members. Document assessments, nursing interventions, patient responses, and progress accurately and in a timely manner. Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and provide meaningful updates regarding patient status and care needs. Initiate discharge planning and provide patient and family education to support a safe transition of care. Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel. Promote patient and staff safety by following infection prevention, safe handling, environmental safety, and facility policies. Prioritize daily activities, use resources effectively, and collaborate with nursing leadership to support quality patient outcomes. Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation when requested and pursue ongoing professional development.
