What you will do at Sogeti:

Job Title: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer (PySpark & Delta Optimization)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Notebooks, PySpark, and Spark SQL
• Build and manage Bronze, Silver, and Gold lakehouse architectures.
• Implement and optimize Delta Lake tables for large-scale analytics workloads.
• Develop incremental load, CDC, and upsert/merge patterns using PySpark.
• Tune Spark workloads to improve performance, reduce execution time, and minimize capacity consumption.
• Analyze Spark execution plans, shuffle operations, partitioning, and memory usage.
• Optimize Fabric capacities and monitor workload performance.
• Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and reporting teams to deliver scalable solutions.

• OPTIMIZE for file compaction
• Small file management
• Partitioning strategies
• Delta MERGE optimization
• Optimize Write
• VACUUM implementation and retention management
• Z-Order optimization where appropriate
• Spark monitoring, shuffle optimization, and executor tuning
• Data skipping and query performance improvements
