Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $2040 per week.

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Required Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias; accessing ports; arterial line management; blood product administration; central line care/management; PICC line management; IV start; assist with chest tube insertion/removal; high flow nasal cannula (HFNC); interpretation of ABGs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Oncology experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Patient care needs include continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration, soft tissue malignancy receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy and symptom management, symptom management secondary to disease-related treatment or progression, and management of comorbidities. Common diagnoses include breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, esophageal cancer, sickle cell crises, and encounter for antineoplastic chemotherapy.

Shift & Scheduling: 12-hour rotating day/night schedule: day 07:00-19:30; night 19:00-07:30. You may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Floating Requirements: Required to float to other MedSurg Oncology units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
