System Engineer 1

At TechR2 , we eradicate data on retired drives and IT devices. Our patented processes and compliance-obsessed team ensure our clients get and stay compliant with all data-security and environmental regulations. But being compliant is just a baseline. We are currently looking for a System Engineer 1 to join our team.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Be a leader for an onsite data destruction team
• Able to communicate with TechR2 directors and onsite data center personnel in a professional manner
• Make estimate for wiping and degaussing devices as required by the Client Relations team
• Make the required entries in the Onsite Project Management fields for assigned projects
• Follow procedures when preparing for, while onsite and closing out a project
• Train individuals that are System Engineer 1 and cross train people who are System Engineer 2 as required
• Assist in the development of new procedures for data destructions
• Work with assign engineering personnel in executing data destruction duties
• Write reports in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as required
• Attend and participate in project meetings as required
• Drive TechR2 automobiles (including box trucks) owned or rental
• Pass System Engineer 2 exams for auditing, degaussing, solid state, storage servers and team management at 95% or above
• Pass required industry standard certifications required for data center security operations

Essential Skills/Experience : The successful candidate for this position will have, at minimum, the following skills, experience, and characteristics.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and government issued driver’s license
• Ability to operate forklift, manual pallet jack and small hand tools
• Ability to use instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach and bend
• Ability to lift, lower and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to travel up to 50% of time
• No barriers to entry into other countries
• Required COVID vaccination
• Pass screenings such as background, drug, and federal I-9 requirements.
