Job Summary:
Under direct supervision of the provider, nursing leadership, and/or a Registered Nurse (RN), performs a variety of nursing care functions within all aspects of Endoscopy. Implements appropriate actions as assigned to provide support and comfort to the patient’s needs, observes the patient, and communicates pertinent data to the RN. Performs technical patient care services under the supervision of nursing leadership and an RN or the Charge RN.

Required Qualifications:

• High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with endoscopy equipment or scope/instrument reprocessing
• Minimal two years of healthcare exposure in a similar clinic setting
• Graduation from an Accredited (CAAHEP/ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, Surgical Technician, or Emergency Medical Tech training

Additional Information:

• Assists physicians and RNs with endoscopic procedures
• Supports pre/intra/post endoscopic care, including monitoring vital signs as directed
• Handles and manages procedure accessory equipment
• Performs high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories
• Troubleshoots problems with endoscopes and support equipment
• Collects and labels specimens with accuracy
• Performs immediate post-procedure endoscope pre-cleaning
