The Sales Arborist serves as the primary consultant for clients seeking professional tree care services. This role is responsible for evaluating tree health and site conditions, educating customers, preparing accurate proposals, and developing customized arboricultural solutions that meet client needs.

The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable arboriculture professional who combines technical expertise with outstanding communication and relationship-building skills. Success in this position is measured through customer satisfaction, sales performance, proposal accuracy, and long-term client retention.

Key Responsibilities

Arboricultural Consulting

• Perform comprehensive tree and landscape assessments.
• Identify tree species, structural defects, pests, diseases, risk factors, and overall tree health.
• Recommend appropriate services including:
• • Tree Pruning
  • Tree Removal
  • Cabling & Bracing
  • Plant Health Care (PHC)
  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
  • Fertilization Programs
  • Root Collar Excavation
  • Deep Root Feeding
  • Tree Preservation
  • Storm Damage Mitigation
• Educate clients on proper tree care practices and long-term landscape management.

Estimating & Proposal Development

• Prepare accurate and detailed proposals using company estimating software.
• Evaluate labor requirements, equipment needs, production hours, and project complexity.
• Accurately estimate crew time, equipment utilization, and overall project costs.
• Ensure proposals align with company pricing standards and profitability goals.
• Explain recommendations and pricing clearly to clients.

Customer Experience

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout every stage of the sales process.
• Communicate project expectations, scheduling requirements, and scope of work.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Operations Collaboration

• Clearly communicate project specifications and customer expectations to Production and Crew Foremen.
• Participate in pre-job planning when necessary.
• Visit active job sites to ensure work quality and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain communication between Sales, Operations, and Production departments.
• Assist with project changes, additional work requests, and change orders.

Professional Development

• Stay current with ANSI A300 standards, OSHA regulations, and ISA Best Management Practices.
• Attend company meetings, safety meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
• Pursue ISA and industry certifications as encouraged by the company.
• Represent Jones Road Tree Service professionally within the community and industry.
