Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE's emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.Job Summary Key AccountabilitiesDevelops, coordinates, and directs important projects or field engineering assignments with complex features.Performs assigned (or initiates) engineering studies, proposing solutions to engineering-related problems; develops models and analyzes data to support improvement programs, techniques & solutions.Interfaces with outside departments, vendors, suppliers, and reliability entities.Develops or assists in presentations of engineering-related projects to all levels of management & external parties (contractors, customers, etc.).Plans and manages group workflow to meet budgets and schedules.May mentor and provide guidance/direction for less experienced staff.Minimum Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 4 years of job relevant experienceOther Qualifications Preferred QualificationsExperience leading Operational Technology (OT), utility operations, digital transformation, or enterprise technology initiatives from concept through deployment.Knowledge of electric distribution operations, outage management, restoration processes, and utility emergency response operations.Experience supporting storm readiness, emergency operations, and system restoration activities in a strategic and/or operational role.Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and technology solutions.Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, IT, Digital, engineering, and field organizations.Knowledge of project delivery methodologies, business process improvement, and change management practices.Experience developing operational procedures, governance documentation, training materials, and user adoption plans.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including frontline employees and senior leadership.Experience supporting critical operations during high-pressure events, including storms, emergency response, or major operational incidents.Familiarity with utility operational systems such as OMS, workforce management, mobile workforce solutions, GIS, or related technologies.Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that enhance operational efficiency and employee experience.Other RequirementsProficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and Word Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong time management, prioritization, and organization skills Proficient communication and interpersonal skillsIncumbents may engage in all or some combination of the activities and accountabilities, and utilize a variety of the competencies cited in this description depending upon the organization and role to which they are assigned.
