Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Position Information

This is an auto-offer position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 1900-0700
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours (must be indicated in the submission)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Hours: As required
• Call Requirements: None

Qualifications

• Required Licensure: Current RN License in Missouri or eligibility for licensure
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (from AHA only); TNCC; NIHSS (may be submitted without, but must obtain prior to start)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a Level 1 Emergency Department or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility. This must be indicated on the resume.
• Preferred Skills: Experience with high acuity patients, trauma, pediatrics, and managing a high volume of patients (200+ patients per day) is preferred.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 68
• Patient Ratios: Routine 4:1, subject to change during surge situations.
• EMR: EPIC

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care to individuals of all ages. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting patient assessments, developing care plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes.
• Coordinating care with other departments and professionals to optimize patient comfort and care.
• Maintaining patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with established standards.
• Demonstrating accountability for patient care and the overall effectiveness of delivered services.
• Adhering to the professional standards as outlined in the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and organizational guidelines.

Work Environment

The role requires physical stamina, as nurses will stand and walk frequently, lift and transport patients using stretchers and wheelchairs, and engage in various physical activities that may require pushing, pulling, and gripping up to specified weights. The work is typically performed in a clean, air-conditioned environment.

Additional Information

RTO (Request Time Off) must be accounted for on the back end and will not be approved in the first week of assignment. Only one holiday RTO can be requested per assignment.

Night shift nurses will orient on the day shift and must be available for the entire week of orientation.
