Position Summary Oversees the total operation of a YMCA branch, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations, and collaborations with community agencies. Essential Functions Align the work of staff and volunteers to the branch and Association’s strategic plan. Establish and implement an annual operating plan with goals, timelines, and expected results. Operate the facility and program activities daily, ensuring smooth operation and appropriate performance tracking. Identify and correct under‑performing areas by organizing task forces as necessary. Represent and promote the YMCA in the local community; develop positive relationships with organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Direct financial development activities and achieve fundraising goals, including developing a year‑round fundraising program, major donor cultivation, capital development, and endowment growth. Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; recruit and hire using screening tools and panel interviews. Ensure staff development plans and training funding are allocated and used appropriately. Identify career candidates and support their development and advancement. Develop, manage, and monitor the branch operating budget; ensure budget targets are met or exceeded. Direct branch strategic planning efforts and develop the annual operating plan. Develop and control long‑ and short‑term budgets to support the strategic plan. Maintain adequate cash balances, net assets, reserves, and fixed assets. Develop and direct high‑quality, relationship‑based member engagement strategies. Serve as staff officer to the branch Board of Managers and ensure board satisfaction and development. Lead board development efforts and provide information for monitoring progress toward stated goals. Facilitate ongoing evaluation of board effectiveness. Foster a climate of innovation to develop member‑focused programs supporting Y mission and strategies. Ensure safety and maintenance of high‑quality facilities, grounds, and equipment. Direct branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefits to the community. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required. Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting, and risk management. Demonstrate the Six Pillars of Character and YMCA Core Values in all dealings with members, guests, volunteers, and staff. Demonstrate competencies in cause‑driven leadership areas and willingness to develop in mission advancement, collaboration, operational effectiveness, and personal growth. Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor. Experience : Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit; experience in volunteer development, staff supervision, branch budget development, marketing, public relations, and program development. Skills : Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, staff supervision, budget monitoring, marketing, public relations, and program development. Licenses & Certifications : YMCA Multi‑Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
