Job Details Job Location: COSTA MESA - Costa Mesa, CA 92626 Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 Salary/year Position: Financial Analyst About Aperture Aperture brings together leading forensic specialists and technical consultants who clarify complex events, strengthen business decisions, and deliver answers grounded in science and extensive industry experience. Description The Financial Analyst oversees projects related to delivery of expert witness testimony and/or consulting services for valuation disputes, including complex intellectual property disputes, commercial litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings. Services include valuation of privately held companies, intangible assets including patents and trade secrets, and other assets; litigation support; participation in mediation/settlement discussions; and creation of presentations and reports in support of these services. Essential Functions Ability to critically analyze financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, bank statements, and other financial documents Ability to analyze and research broad market sectors and write industry summaries Understanding of financial documents used in day-to-day business operations and transactions Intermediate understanding of financial theory and general accounting issues Demonstrated financial modeling experience Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) Ability to work with changing client-imposed and multiple deadlines Development of detailed financial models Review, organize and analyze case‑specific documents Preparing detailed schedules and analyses supporting expert opinions Ability to critically analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data while documenting results in a clear and concise manner Assisting in drafting expert reports, including identifying evidence supporting opinions Ability to critique alternative arguments/opinions Reviewing and analyzing opposing expert reports and calculations Performing quality control of our calculations, reports and other work products Performing economic, industry, and other research as needed Identify patterns and relationships in large data sets through a combination of analysis and research Participate in meetings and phone calls with counsel and client personnel Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Requirements 4‑year undergraduate degree with a concentration in economics or finance required; MBA or MS in economics or finance preferred Designation or pursuit of designation preferred (CPA, CFA, ASA, CVA, CFE, etc.) 1–2 years of related experience preferred, including strong background in business valuation, corporate finance, or litigation support Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic Team player and professional presence Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Significant attention to detail and high level of accuracy Physical Requirements The ability to sit at a desk up to 80% of the time The ability to stand and walk up to 20% of the time The ability to be confined in a small area, such as a cubicle The ability to operate phones and computers Benefits Fun, energetic, casual office Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) with company discretionary contribution Company paid holidays, paid time off, and floating holidays Hours of Work Fulltime: Defined as 5 days a week for 40 hours per week.
