Production Coordinator

Job Title: Production CoordinatorReports To: Executive DirectorDepartment: Gila River Broadcasting Corp.Status: Non-ExemptJOB SUMMARY:This role is responsible for coordinating live television broadcasts, facilitating production meetings, preparing budgets and production documents, scheduling programming, and monitoring on-air operations to ensure seamless transmission. The Production Coordinator also assists with content development, community outreach, sponsor and advertiser relations, and operational support, including equipment management and office administration.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan and schedule programming, based on broadcast, length, time availability, and other factors, such as community needs, ratings data, and viewer demographicsCoordinate activities between departments, such as news and programming.Evaluate new and existing programming to assess suitability and project updates.Select, acquire, and maintain programs, music, films, and other needed materials and obtain legal clearances for their use as necessary.Facilitate production meetings.Create productions budgets, rundowns, call sheetsConduct interviews and arrange production for LIVE TV.Execute clear and professional communication with talent, clients, advertisers, and sponsors.Develop ideas for programs and features that a station could produce. Research upcoming stories and events within the community.Review information about programs and schedules to ensure accuracy and provide such information to local media outlets.Keep track of project progression for media editors. Set deadlines and production timelines.Work with sales accountant to keep track of data and sensitive information.Draft quotes and process invoices.Read news, read or record public service and promotional announcements, or perform other on-air duties.Represent GRBC through marketing outreach and network opportunities.Operate and maintain on-air and production audio equipment.Observe monitors and converse with station personnel to determine audio and video levels and to ascertain that programs are airing.Report equipment problems and ensure that repairs are made; make emergency repairs to equipment when necessary and possible.Preview scheduled programs to ensure that signals are functioning and programs are ready for transmission.Substitute programs in cases where signals fail.Assist with office admin duties. i.e. office supplies, building updates, vehicle fleet management. She/he will be required to follow any other instructions to perform any other duties as requested by her/his supervisor or designee.SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:Must be flexible with hours due to the operational needs of the business.Must have minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the broadcasting industry.Individual must be able to work under pressure and meet strict job deadlines.Must have a good working knowledge of computers and software systems.Must be detail oriented and be able to manage multiple events simultaneously.Ability and requirement to meet all deadlines with data and content accuracy at 100%Able to maintain confidentiality guidelines in accordance with company policy.Able and willing to continue business skills developmentMust be detail and deadline oriented.Must be able to work within the team concept.Knowledge of video and audio signals.Ability to read and understand technical operation manuals.Able to operate broadcast equipment.Experience with automation systems.College degree or technical school preferred.Able to lift up to 50 lbs.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)Project lead experience is desirable. Supervisory and/or project management experience is a plus.Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications, Adobe Creative Suite, and SalesforceIn-depth understanding of technology-based services, products and networking.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Will be asked to provide 39 months driving record.
