Job Description As a Security Guard Experienced Unarmed Patrol in Far Rockaway, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy government transit location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security‑related incidents. Position Type Full Time Pay Rate $18.02 / Hour Job Schedule Day Time Thursday 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM Friday 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM Saturday 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM Sunday 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM What You’ll Do Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or public agency personnel as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols of transit‑related property, including bus terminals, waiting areas, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations, with working environments and conditions varying by site. Monitor for unusual activity, unattended items, access issues, and/or policy violations, and help deter disruptions through visible presence and timely reporting. Document daily activities, incidents, and/or observations in required reports, and assist with directing foot traffic, line flow, and general public inquiries during routine operations and service interruptions. Minimum Requirements Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
