A leading Commercial Flooring Contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Flooring Estimator to join their team and provide accurate, competitive estimates for commercial flooring projects. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of commercial flooring materials and installation methods, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents. Commercial Flooring Estimator Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for commercial flooring projects.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, finish schedules, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed flooring takeoffs for labor, materials, accessories, and installation requirements.
• Analyze project scopes and identify potential risks, exclusions, and areas requiring clarification.
• Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing.
• Develop competitive pricing while maintaining targeted gross margins.
• Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with general contractors, architects, suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements.
• Issue RFIs and obtain clarification when plans or specifications are incomplete or conflicting.
• Track bid deadlines and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
• Review addenda and incorporate changes into estimates before bid submission.
• Assist the sales and project-management teams with budgets, value engineering, and change-order pricing.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, vendor quotes, and bid documents.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and project turnover meetings as needed.
• Develop and maintain a database of material, labor, and installation costs.
• Stay current on commercial flooring products, installation methods, manufacturer requirements, and industry pricing trends.

Commercial Flooring Estimator Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial flooring estimating experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial flooring products, including carpet tile, broadloom, LVT, VCT, sheet vinyl, rubber, ceramic/porcelain tile, polished concrete, and related systems.
• Proven ability to perform accurate material and labor takeoffs.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, specifications, and finish schedules.
• Understanding of commercial flooring installation methods and labor requirements.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in project documents.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating/project-management software.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales and operations teams.

Commercial Flooring Estimator Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating large-scale commercial flooring projects.
• Experience with electronic takeoff and estimating software.
• Knowledge of commercial construction contracts and bid requirements.
• Experience working directly with general contractors and commercial construction firms.
• Established relationships with flooring manufacturers, suppliers, and installation subcontractors.
• Experience with value engineering and alternative product selections.
• Knowledge of prevailing wage, union labor, or other specialized labor requirements.
